We are seeking an organized, energetic candidate to communicate with businesses, grow our industry lists, write stories and copy edit for our three publications. The best fit for this entry-level, part-time assistant editor position will be able to juggle multiple responsibilities, while also looking for innovative ways to grow the publications.

Pennsylvania Business Central, a Sample Media publication, has served Central Pennsylvania as the #1 platform for B2B news for over 25 years. Five years ago, PBC branched out into covering the growing shale gas industry with a new monthly industry publication, Marcellus Business Central. Just this past year, we further expanded with the creation of Women in Business , a bi-monthly targeted business publication that is rapidly growing.

We are a dedicated team committed to keeping our readers tapped into the Pennsylvania business world, while keeping them well-informed about the future of our energy industry. In order to meet these standards, we stay constantly informed about a wide-array of industries, making this position a fantastic opportunity to learn for anyone who is willing.

Good phone skills are a must as consistent contact with businesses in our readership will be an integral part of the position. The assistant editor will also coordinate social media posts with the editor. A full job description will be provided during the interview.

Preferred competencies:

  • BA in communications, English or journalism.
  • Previous experience in an editorial or marketing position.
