Lift Johnstown’s main goals are to support impactful local projects, foster volunteerism and encourage broad collaboration on vital community initiatives that improve the region’s economic and social vitality, such as regional redevelopment, early childhood intervention, support for budding entrepreneurs, trails, parks, river projects, urban agriculture, community health, arts and culture and livable communities initiatives.
Lift plays a major role in getting people engaged in volunteer work in the community through the Lift Project Party, which annually attracts approximately 70 grassroots, regional and national nonprofit organizations from six counties who gather on one day in one place to inform the region about their projects, network with other organizations on programming and solicit volunteers to help complete their missions. At this event, nonprofits also benefit from free seminars developed by Lift to keep them informed on key issues in technology, administration, communication, marketing, etc. Over the past eight years, over 2,800 people have signed up at the Lift Project Party to volunteer for diverse projects and nonprofits spanning the region.
Lift also heavily supports the Vision2025 initiative and its hundreds of volunteers. Lift presents a quarterly “Volunteer Spotlight” award and student awards to promote community involvement from students to seniors.
The free Lift Johnstown Project Party will take place Tuesday, April 30, 12–5:30 p.m. at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center in downtown Johnstown. All are invited.
