According to Stotter, he can’t imagine a more rewarding place to work.

“The most rewarding part of my career is being part of a management team that truly values the organization’s employees and encourages them to be active in their communities,” Stotter said.

The North Shore Railroad is comprised of six Short Line Railroads. Stotter and his team have had the honor of being the only railroad to receive the three highest-regarded shortline railroad awards in the same year. Stotter and his wife, Andrea have three sons: Noah, Elliott and Ian. He enjoys antiquing, playing guitar, college football and spending time with his family.

As far as business advice is concerned, Stotter’s is short and sweet.

“Every decision that is made should come with a litmus test,” he said. “That is: How will this affect our employees?”
