Hanna announces grant award in Renovo

Renovo, PA – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, announced a $371,000 grant for Renovo Borough in Clinton County as part of approximately $53 million in total Multimodal grant funding approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

Renovo Borough will use this funding for sidewalk and curb construction and project administration. The project calls for nearly one mile of reconstruction throughout the borough.

“Many of the curbs and sidewalks are in poor condition in Renovo,” said Hanna. “This funding will provide for added accessibility and safety.”

Renovo Borough plans to use Multi- Modal Funds to construct new pedestrian sidewalks, ADA compliant curb ramps, cross walks and curbing along Third, Fourth, Fifth, 11th, and 12th streets. The project limits extend from Ontario to Erie avenues. These streets are major connectors and are heavily traveled by Renovo residents.

Hanna said the total project will cost approximately $530,000. In addition to the grant funding the borough is receiving today, $159,000 in local match funding will be used for paving and an easement on Fourth St.

In early 2016, Hanna said Renovo was awarded $750,000 in grant funding through the state’s Community Development Block Grant funds to, in part, improve and repair the storm water, water and sewer systems on Ontario Avenue from Fourth St. to 11th St.
