Alzheimer’s Association of Centre, Blair, Lycoming and Clearfield Counties*

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research and is the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research. Founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who saw a need in their community, its members and volunteers remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through advancing research, providing care and support for everyone affected by the disease and working to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

The Alzheimer’s Association works at both the national and local level to provide that care and support so desperately needed in the fight against Alzheimer’s. The association’s most prominent fundraising program is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a charity and awareness walk held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, including Centre, Blair, Lycoming and Clearfield counties. Participating and helping to find a cure for the devastating disease is as easy as finding a walk in your area, registering and raising awareness.
