13 companies to receive a Ben Franklin investment
State College — Thirteen tech-based companies located in the 32-county footprint serviced by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern Pennsylvania will collectively receive an investment totaling $2.4 million as a result of the passing of the state budget. Ben Franklin funding has been utilized for more than a quarter century to help emerging, tech-based companies and manufacturers prove out new technology, hire additional staff and increase their sales/marketing efforts in order to grow and compete in their respective markets. Ben Franklin’s Board of Directors also approved investments in three Centers of Excellence and four energy-based translational research projects.
In the Centre County Region, the companies that received a Ben Franklin investment are:
Mission Critical Systems – $200,000 – to further provide innovative, strategic design services for “mission critical” public safety answering points such as 911 systems. See www.missioncriticalpartners.com
