UPMC Altoona Foundation’s Golf Classic raises $67,000 to benefit patients

ALTOONA, PA –Through the generosity of 37 sponsors and 234 golfers, the UPMC Altoona Foundation raised $67,000 for direct patient care at UPMC Altoona at the 8th Annual Golf Classic held June 19 at Scotch Valley Country Club, Hollidaysburg.

“We express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors and golfers who made this so successful,” said Tim Balconi, president, UPMC Altoona Foundation. “We are grateful to our breakfast sponsor, Sheetz, Inc., and to our after-golf reception sponsor, Subway; to those who supported the event with donations and to our many volunteers and staff who gave their time to make sure our golfer-guests had a great day despite some heavy rain during the morning flight.”

The Foundation extends its appreciation to Denny DeGol for providing a complimentary round of golf at Scotch Valley to all golfers, the staff at Scotch Valley Country Club for their friendly, professional management of the event and to Stuckey Ford Subaru for sponsoring a hole-in-one contest to win a new car.
