The Williamsport, Lycoming Chamber of Commerce

Est. 1885

The Williamsport, Lycoming Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1885 as the Williamsport Board of Trade with a mission “to preserve, protect, and defend the free enterprise system through promoting a good business climate and quality of life for the businesses and people of Lycoming County.”

The chamber is a full-service, countywide economic development organization that includes the Industrial Properties Corporation, the Economic and Community Growth Corporation and the Foundation of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber. In addition, it is the designated tourism promotion agency for Lycoming County and also operates tourism efforts as the Lycoming County Visitors Bureau. The chamber also operates Leadership Lycoming and the Montoursville and Jersey Shore Area Chambers of Commerce.

The chamber’s programs are as diverse as organizing and conducting the annual Grand Slam Parade to mark the beginning of the Little League World Series to working on infrastructure development for industry and helping to create family-sustaining jobs, while offering dozens of opportunities throughout the year for businesses to network with each other and do business locally.

The chamber is proud of its long history of service to Lycoming County, its businesses and people and believes that making Williamsport and Lycoming County a great place to live, work and play is work worth doing.
