Garvey Manor

Est. 1965

Garvey Manor Nursing Home has been serving elders of greater Blair County since 1965. Continually striving to improve services, it has evolved to its status as a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Multiple levels of service are provided on the beautiful campus in Hollidaysburg: skilled nursing care for short term rehabilitation or long term living including special dementia care units to help address individual’s unique life changing experiences. Our Lady of the Alleghenies Residence, part of the complex, houses the personal care residence and independent living apartments.

Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm share joint sponsorship with the Diocese of Altoona- Johnstown. Sisters, exceptional staff and dedicated volunteers live the mission of promoting and providing personal and professional quality care and service in an atmosphere to reflect the home’s value in Christ’s compassion, love and concern for the elderly. Hospitality, compassion, dignity, respect for the sanctity of life and an individual approach to care are hallmark values.

Commitment to high standards has earned Garvey Manor the reputation as one of the best senior care facilities in Central Pennsylvania. Among recognitions Garvey Manor has received includes the repeated selection as “Home Town Favorite” by the Altoona Mirror, “The Excellence in Quality Care Award” by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Long Term Living, the Pennsylvania Departments of Health’s “Excellence in Health Care Compliance Award,” and the Blair Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Hall of Fame” award. The manor’s most treasured recognition is the satisfaction expressed by residents and their families for the care and services received.
