Vincent J. Delie, Jr.

President and CEO

First National Bank Corporation and First National Bank

Vincent J. Delie, Jr. is president and CEO of First National Bank Corp. and First National Bank (FNB). Based in Pittsburgh, FNB has total combined, pro-forma assets of nearly $30 billion, including the planned acquisition of Yadkin Financial Corp.

Delie has nearly 30 years of extensive financial service experience, and a degree in business administration and finance. He joined FNB in 2005 as president and CEO of the company’s Pittsburgh region. He was promoted to a number of key executive leadership roles including chief revenue officer and president of the banking group. He became president of FNB Corp. in 2011 and in 2012 was named CEO where he was then also elected to the board of directors.

Under Delie’s leadership, the company has experienced unprecedented growth and expanded into major metropolitan markets. Today FNB holds a top retail deposit share in three major metropolitan statistical areas including Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Cleveland.

Outside his direct position, Delie is an active member within the financial services industry through organizations including the Watson Institute, the United Way, Team Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Economy League of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, the American Bankers Association and the Pennsylvania Business Council.

He advises young professionals to be confident when beginning their careers.

“A mistake people often make, especially early in their career, is to underestimate their ability relative to others,” Delie said. “When you enter your career, you should be confident. Things like academic credentials do not necessarily lead to performance and there is no replacement for experience. Hard work, passion and perseverance are what count.”
