Larry Allison Jr.

Allison Crane and Rigging

When Larry Allison Jr. became president of Allison Crane and Rigging in 1996 he joined a long family line of leaders in construction.

Since taking over the business, he has grown his business into a major economic force in the region while continuing to expand into new areas.

When his father, previous President Larry Allison Sr., passed away in 2014, Larry established the Larry Allison Family Scholarship in both his honor and the honor of Herbert L. Allison, Larry Allison Sr.’s father.

Larry Jr.’s great-grandfather, Herbert F. Allison, founded Lycoming Construction Co., which helped to build infrastructure such as the Interstate Highway System, the Pennsylvania Railroad and several dams throughout Pennsylvania and the mid-Atlantic region.

In addition to the scholarship, a commemorative bulldozer blade, plaque and historical marker have been placed on Penn College’s campus to mark where Allison Crane and Rigging operated from 1943-80.

He is active in the community especially with the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation board of directors, Industrial Properties Corporation and the Williamsport Country Club.
