Greg Smith

President & CEO


Greg Smith has been in the credit union industry for over 40 years. While studying clinical psychology at University of California, Smith became involved with a San Diego credit union near campus. Within five years at Torrey Pines FCU, he grew the founding members’ initial deposit of $25 to over $7 million.

In 1991, Smith came to PSECU and has grown the credit union to more than $4 billion in assets and over 400,000 members. Teaming technology with continual process improvement, PSECU is a leader in remote service delivery.

Smith serves on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association and Credit Union Executives Society while also serving on the finance committee at his church.

Since 2015, PSECU financial center in State College has worked with college students to help ensure their financial future.

“Our young people who are going to college and graduating to enter the workforce represent enormous potential for all of Pennsylvania. They’re full of energy and have a desire to truly make a difference in the world. PSECU has committed millions to help students get their degrees by providing scholarship dollars, as well as other types of financial support for PA universities and community and private colleges,” Smith said.

Born into a Navy family in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Smith likes to travel with his family and explore new areas.

He enjoys exercising, working with digital video, debating political issues and growing orchids. Smith lives with his wife in Dauphin County. They have two adult sons.
