Donald Chapman

Nittany Paper Mills

After graduating from Elizabethtown College, Don Chapman joined Scott Paper Company as a salesman in New York City. He took to the paper, plastic and packaging distribution business and remained in the New York metropolitan area for 30 years.

In 2005, Chapman decided to purchase a paper towel machine in Central Pa. and hired three people to run it. Due to the company’s geographical advantage providing quick service to Boston and Baltimore and its top-notch workforce, they now have over 120 employees and ship over $1 million per week of towels, tissues and napkins across the U.S.

Chapman believes his area’s strongest assets lie in its location and workforce.

“The hidden economic potential of Lewistown is its labor force and the geographical positioning to service over 70 percent of the US population. Nittany Paper assists in realizing this potential by creating new jobs every year for the last 11 years and delivering products made in Lewistown to the majority of states in the US,” he said.
