Brian J. Bluth

McCormick Law Firm

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Brian Bluth joined McCormick Law Firm in 2001; becoming a partner in 2009.

While making his mark at the firm as a litigator with a strong background in medical malpractice defense, Bluth made sure to give back to the community through pro bono work and charitable activities. He became a member of the protection from abuse panel and served as general counsel for both the AIDS Resource Alliance, Inc. and West House, Inc.

It was during this time in his career that Bluth learned the value of finding a sustainable work-life balance.

“Other than an infrequent long weekend, I did not take a real vacation for the first 10 years of my career. I learned that a proper work-life balance is critical to success and is necessary to ‘recharge your batteries’ at least twice a year,” he said.

Bluth now encourages everyone in his office to take time off to maintain long-term success.

Bluth’s leadership roles with the Lycoming County United Way, the First Community Foundation Partnership of PA, and the Susquehanna Health Sub-Committee on Medical Ethics, allowed him to contribute to the ongoing success and vision of these organizations.

Bluth has also developed and taught two masters-level courses in health services administration to graduate students in the Williamsport area, as well as an upper-level undergraduate course in criminal justice.

Bluth is optimistic about the future his community and is glad to be a part of its growth.

“Williamsport has the potential to be the economic and cultural center of north central Pennsylvania. By taking a leadership role in my law firm, which has been in continuous existence since 1862, as well as on various nonprofit boards, I am proud to be one of many community leaders dedicated to shaping the future of our community,” he said.
