Amanda J. Lavis, M.B.A., Esq.

Rhoads & Sinon LLP

As a partner at Rhoads & Sinon LLP, Amanda Lavis focuses her practice on helping employers protect and develop what makes them unique – whether that’s protecting brands or trade secrets, encouraging corporate cultures of employee engagement, or defending companies in litigation. She also works to help companies develop cultures of cybersecurity in order to safely care for the information entrusted to the company.

Lavis is particularly passionate about helping women business owners and executives and founded Women Empowered, a networking group that highlights and supports the success and advancement of women as business and community leaders.

Lavis also currently serves on the board of directors for the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and on the executive leadership team for the Go Red for Women campaign for the American Heart Association.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her fiancé Dave and spending time with their dogs Jack and Ruger.

Entrepreneurs hold the key to unlocking the potential of her community according to Lavis. She particularly thinks that a woman’s success in business can only help another woman’s success and encourages them to connect and mentor one another.

Lavis found herself losing depth and meaning in her business relationships due to relying too heavily on email or text messages to communicate. She since has become more mindful in how she communicates with others.
