Women’s Energy Network Appalachia Chapter

Est. 2011 / Pittsburgh

The Women’s Energy Network (WEN) Appalachia Chapter was founded in 2011. Managed out of the Pittsburgh area, WEN Appalachia’s more than 275 members are located across the Appalachian region of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. This region continues to be a central location in the ongoing American energy revolution, as it boasts the full range of energy resources and is at the forefront of emerging energy technologies and practices. WEN Appalachia’s membership is just as varied, featuring women from multiple energy and energy-related companies.

Similar to the other approximately 15 chapters of WEN, WEN Appalachia’s vision is to be the premier local organization to educate, attract, retain and develop professional women working across the energy value chain. WEN offers educational, networking and leadership opportunities to almost 4,000 women nationwide through luncheons, conferences, community initiatives, socials and mentoring programs. Similarly, WEN Appalachia offers a variety of educational, charitable and networking opportunities to its membership and beyond. These opportunities include: its annual charity/awards gala - Boots and Ball Gowns; instructional woman-focused clay shoots; professional and personal development programs; technical discussions and partnership opportunities with other nonprofit organizations.
