Saint Francis University

Est. 1847 / Loretto

Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa. is one of the oldest Catholic universities in the United States. The university’s mission is to develop students who take a caring, ethical approach to their chosen fields.

Saint Francis has been a leader in business education for 70 years, launching the region’s first MBA program. Today, the MBA program is part of a rich portfolio offered through the university’s School of Business under the leadership of the dean, Dr. Randy Frye.

The School’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC), headed by Barry Surma, serves emerging entrepreneurs in six counties, helping small businesses to begin, grow and prosper. It also offers the SEED program (Students for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.)

The school’s Dr. Albert A. Zanzuccki Endowed Chair in Business Administration brings nationally-recognized business professionals—often alumni—to campus as executives in residence. The school also hosts a chapter of the international, non-profit Enactus organization which promotes a sustainable world through the positive power of business.

In fall 2016, the school of business will move into a new home in the newly expanded Schwab Hall. The $7.5 million project was funded entirely through alumni and donor support.
