Pennsylvania College of Technology

Est. 1989 (as a Penn State affiliate) / Williamsport

Under the leadership of President Davie Jane Gilmour, Pennsylvania College of Technology – a special mission affiliate of Penn State – is a national leader in applied technology education.

The Williamsport-based home of “degrees that work” recently unveiled “Working Class,” a new public-television series that promotes career awareness and helps students understand the practical applications of math, science, reading and writing. The six-part series, airing on WVIA-TV and elsewhere, is an offshoot of a documentary produced in conjunction with Penn College’s 2014 Centennial Celebration.

Founded and focused on student achievement, the institution realizes that successful graduates are its best marketing tools. Penn College encourages civic engagement among members of its extended community: Students perform a wealth of projects on and off campus, and the college has a history of affiliations with such well-known organizations as Little League Baseball, Susquehanna Health and Habitat for Humanity.

From its infancy in boosting the employability of World War I veterans, the college has honored its commitment to the armed forces. The college has earned “Military Friendly” status for the seventh consecutive year and a Penn College Patriot Scholarship is building toward endowment as a source of financial aid for veterans and their dependents.
