North Central Sight Services

Est. 1957 / Williamsport

North Central Sight Services, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Williamsport. Its mission is to provide exceptional programs, services and employment to the blind and vision-impaired as well as excellent education, prevention and products to all customers.

The agency, formerly known as the Lycoming County Association for the Blind was incorporated in 1957. Its industry operation provided employment opportunities for people who are blind. Employees assembled rubber door mats, caned chairs, and performed subcontract work for businesses.

Today, North Central Sight Services employs 65 associates and utilizes a similar business model except the products and services have expanded. More than 93 percent of its total operation is funded through the sales of products and business services. Net-industry funds help provide employment, vision screenings and rehabilitation for people with vision loss in North Central Pennsylvania.

North Central Sight Services offers full document management services: document imaging, storage, and destruction. It also provides data security solutions, disposing of hard drives, computer media, and laptops. Other services include vending, Sip for Sight coffee/bottleless water coolers and custom labels. The agency also operates two low vision aids stores; one in Williamsport and one in Bellefonte. North Central Sight Services is ISO 9001:2008 Certified and a member of the National Association for Information Destruction.
