Black Valley Farm Everett

Black Valley Farm is a diversified open-air piggery. Recognized nation-wide for their award-winning herd of Kunekune pigs—a small heritage breed of grazing pigs originally from New Zealand that not long ago was threatened with extinction. Black Valley Farm has been influential in promoting awareness of the Kunekune pig’s potential in pasture-based farming and works closely with the American Kunekune Pig Registry as their director of projects and marketing.

In 2014 BVF took top honors at Cochon 555, Philadelphia, securing Kunekune pork a place of honor among heritage pork.

In 2015 BVF was awarded the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce’s Excellence in Agribusiness Award which has encouraged growth towards becoming one of Bedford County’s leading sources of pastured and organically fed meats. The local farm offers CSA shares including pork, poultry, lamb, eggs, seasonal greens and artisan preserves.

Their sustainable philosophies are grounded in beyond organic practices, nose-to-tail utilization, seasonal eating and culinary creativity.

Black Valley Provender’s farm kitchen offers classes in soap making, fermentation, home dairy and preserving while Black Valley Farm offers workshops on cottage farming, butchery, pig keeping, and modern marketing. A distributor of Modesto Milling, they also offer other area producers access to certified organic livestock feeds.
