Bedford Fall Foliage Festival

Est. 1964 / Bedford

Bedford’s Fall Foliage Festival began in 1964 with a small antique car parade. Now, 52 years later, over 70,000 people descend on the quaint and charming town of downtown Bedford during the first two full weekends in October. As the colored leaves paint the back drop for one of PA’s most popular festival, visitors browse the booths of over 400 artisans who line the streets of one of the top 10 main streets in the country.

Festival goers can always expect a variety of musical entertainment, pony rides for kids and delicious food. The annual antique car parade boasts 125 cars, some carrying the county schools’ reigning Fall Foliage Queen and the contestants vying for the coveted title. The profit made from the festival is donated back to the community in the form of scholarships for students and donations to worthy causes.

Since the beginning, the festival has been organized solely by volunteers who take pride in seeing their efforts rewarded by visitors who travel many miles to enjoy the Fall Foliage Festival and the historic town of Bedford.
