McQuaide Blasko; Lawyer

Blasko Blasko The day after John Blasko graduated from high school in 1953, he went to Buffalo, New York and landed a job at General Mills. In 1958, he earned a teaching degree from Shippensburg University.

He then taught business at a high school in Connecticut, earning enough to make a down payment on his first year at The Dickinson School of Law.

Blasko graduated from law school in 1962, and was hired by Roy Wilkinson in 1963, along with two other associates – Charles Brown and Del McQuaide. The three of them took over the practice in 1970.

Today, McQuaide Blasko has more than 30 lawyers supported by over 50 dedicated staff members.

John was president of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, which named him “Outstanding Defense Lawyer” in 1994, and has served on the Board of Governors and House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He was appointed a mediator by the federal judges of the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

John has six children. His hobbies include gardening and skiing. He has traveled to England, France, Italy, South Africa, Switzerland, Germany and Belgium.

Blasko’s first job was at a shoe repair shop, where he met a lawyer who mentioned how law can become a career.
